#ChangeNeedsAllOfUs
Race Equality Week (2–8 February 2026) calls on organisations to take meaningful action on racial inequality under the theme #ChangeNeedsAllOfUs.
At UNISON, race equality isn’t a one‑week initiative — it’s at the heart of our work year‑round.
Race for Equality Campaign
UNISON’s Race for Equality campaign tackles racism across the NHS by supporting staff to recognise and challenge discrimination, and by equipping branches with training, briefings and tools to create fairer recruitment, progression and workplace cultures.
Black Members Group
Our Black Members Group leads ongoing work to challenge racism, close ethnicity pay gaps, and improve equality in employment, training and promotion across public services. It also provides resources and opportunities for collective organising and action.
UNISON’s Anti‑Racism Charter
Across the UK, public bodies are adopting UNISON’s Anti‑Racism Charter — committing to diverse workforces, anti‑racism training, transparent ethnicity pay‑gap reporting, and clear reporting systems for workplace racism.
This Race Equality Week, UNISON celebrates the progress made — and renews its commitment to fighting racism in every workplace, every day. Change needs all of us, and we’re proud to lead the way.
