The Croydon University Hospital UNISON Branch proudly sponsored a vibrant Filipino Fiesta in partnership with the Trust’s Race Equality Staff Network (REN), celebrating the culture, heritage, and contributions of our Filipino colleagues across Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.
Sponsoring this event highlights our branch’s commitment to UNISON’s Year of the Migrant Worker campaign, which shines a spotlight on the experiences, rights, and vital role of migrant workers in public services. Filipino staff continue to play an essential role in the NHS, and this celebration was a heartfelt recognition of their impact.
UNISON’s national campaign also advocates for fair treatment, dignity, and stronger protections for migrant workers, including reforms to the visa sponsorship system to prevent exploitation and support long-term wellbeing.
We’re proud to stand with our Filipino colleagues and all migrant workers, and we remain committed to supporting events that celebrate diversity and foster belonging across the NHS.
